Starry rosinweed is a tall native perennial that produces bright yellow, daisy-like flowers from summer through early fall. This drought-tolerant plant forms upright clumps and can reach up to 5 feet tall, making it an excellent choice for the back of flower borders. The cheerful blooms provide months of color while requiring minimal water once established.

In an HOA neighborhood

Starry Rosinweed takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very tall height (up to 5 feet) may violate front yard restrictions
  • Can appear weedy or wild to conventional landscaping standards
  • Dies back completely in winter leaving bare stems

Wildlife value

This plant is a pollinator magnet, attracting bees, butterflies, and beetles with its abundant nectar-rich flowers. The long bloom period from June through September provides consistent food sources during critical late-season months.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
