Wild comfrey is a native woodland perennial that produces clusters of small white or pale blue flowers from May through July. This medium-sized forb has broad, somewhat coarse leaves and prefers partial sun conditions with consistent moisture.

In an HOA neighborhood

Giant-Forget-Me-Not takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Has a weedy, informal appearance
  • Large coarse leaves may look unkempt
  • Can appear scraggly after blooming

Wildlife value

The flowers attract native bees and butterflies during the extended blooming period. The plant provides good habitat value for woodland pollinators.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
