Branched foldwing is a compact native perennial that produces small tubular flowers from July through September. This low-growing wildflower forms neat clumps and thrives in partial sun with moderate watering needs.

In an HOA neighborhood

Branched Foldwing takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Uncommon wildflower appearance may be viewed as weedy
  • Small stature can look unkempt in formal landscapes
  • Dies back completely in winter leaving bare spots

Wildlife value

The tubular flowers attract bees and butterflies throughout the late summer blooming period. This native plant provides important nectar sources when many other flowers have finished blooming.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
