Single delight is a tiny woodland perennial that forms small colonies in shaded areas. This delicate plant produces a single white flower on each stem during summer months and maintains small evergreen leaves year-round.

In an HOA neighborhood

Single Delight takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Extremely small size makes it nearly invisible in landscaping
  • Woodland appearance looks too wild for formal settings
  • Requires specific shade conditions that limit placement options

Wildlife value

The small white flowers attract native bees and beetles during the summer blooming period. Its compact size limits its overall wildlife impact compared to larger native plants.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
