Tufted forget-me-not is a low-growing perennial with small blue flowers that bloom from late spring through mid-summer. This native wildflower forms compact clumps and thrives in full sun with moderate water needs. It provides delicate seasonal color while maintaining a relatively tidy appearance.

In an HOA neighborhood

Tufted Forget-me-not takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Annual nature means gaps and inconsistent appearance
  • Can appear weedy or unkempt to traditional landscaping expectations
  • Self-seeding habit may look uncontrolled

Wildlife value

The small blue flowers attract native bees and beneficial flies during the extended blooming period from May through July.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
