Largeseed forget-me-not is a charming annual wildflower that produces clusters of small blue flowers from May through July. This compact native grows 6-18 inches tall with a tidy, low-growing habit that works well in garden borders and naturalized areas.

In an HOA neighborhood

Largeseed Forget-me-not takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: moderate. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Annual nature means plants die back completely each year
  • Can appear weedy or unkempt compared to typical landscaping
  • May self-seed unpredictably in following years

Wildlife value

The small blue flowers attract native bees and beetles during the late spring and summer blooming period. As an annual, it provides seasonal nectar resources for pollinators.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
