In an HOA neighborhood

Annual Dropseed takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Dies completely each year leaving bare spots
  • Can appear weedy and unkempt
  • Unpredictable germination creates patchy appearance

Wildlife value

The seeds provide food for small birds and the grass offers shelter for beneficial insects during its growing season.
